How to Make Tire Burnout Smoke With Bifrost in Maya

By July 28, 2023No Comments

Dario Ortisi uses a Bifrost simulation setup to create a tire burnout animation in Maya.

Senior 3D Artist Dario Ortisi covers creating a relatively simple Bifrost Graph that makes a tire burnout animation along with some colliders. The graph used here is an Aero Simulation in Bifrost.

The critical part is a custom compound Ortisi uses called Normal to Velocity. The Compound takes vertex_normal from an object and sets point_velocity after manipulating and rotating it.
