How to Turn Type Into Balloons With Bifrost in Maya

Phil Radford uses Bifrost and the MPM solver in Maya to turn text and type into balloons.

Recently, a slew of tutorials for various DCCs show how to turn a text segment into balloons using dynamic cloth solvers. The latest addition to this bunch is this new tutorial series from MayaGuy, Phil Radford (@MayaGuytutorials).

Radford uses Bifrost and the MPM Cloth solver to create a 3D balloon effect. The tutorial also shows how to work with the scatter in volume node from Bifrost’s Scatter Pack to simulate inflating the letters of the type.
