I recently came across an in-depth article on understanding the V-Ray DMC Sampler from Toni Bratincevic and although it is dated as an older article, it does provide a very technical look into what the V-Ray DMC sample is doing with some really nice sample images which are pretty clear in explaining value attributes that would otherwise be confusing.
