Building a Film Scratches and Dust Look in After Effects Using Shape Layers

Evan Abrams posts a look at creating an old look to video in After Effects, by building dust and scratches with some simple techniques that can be used in any After Effects composition.

Evan uses fractal noise for some film grain, and After Effects Vector Shape Layers to create the scratches that will be driven with some simple expressions. Completing the look, Evan does some framing and color correcting on the clip to finish off the project.
