How to Use Cinema 4D’s MorphTag As a PolyFX Substitute

By September 30, 2013No Comments

Yader, (Derya Öztürk) posts a quick tip showing how it is possible to use the Cinema 4D Morph Tag as an alternative to using MoGraph PolyFX, inciting the technique to scale down an object on a per-polygon basis.

PolyFX Object was too slow and couldn’t be baked easily so I came up with this

Yader notes that the issue he had with using PolyFX was that it could not be cached, and as a result was inherently slow. Using this technique, Yader was able to use the PointCache Tag to bake out the animation, which is centered around the idea of having different polygon “states” essentially, and blending them together. Check out the tutorial for How to Use Cinema 4D’s MorphTag As a PolyFX Alternative here.
