Using Mask Tracking and MaskTracker+ as a Simple Planar Tracker in After Effects

By August 20, 2014No Comments

Earlier this week Mamoworld released MaskTracker+, an After Effects plugin that will allow you to expand the used of the new Mask Tracking tool in Ae to other parts of your workflow. MaskTracker+ will look at masks that have been tracked in Ae and then extrapolate the tracking data from them, allowing you to use that data with other layers, the corner pin effect, stabilizing clips, or anything else.

Here Mathias Möhl shows how you can use MaskTracker+ as a simple and useful planar tracker right in After Effects without leaving the application. By using Ae’s mask tracking feature on a shot and then applying the tracking data to other layers, Mathias shows how quickly you can add visual effects to a scene without leaving Ae to track.
