Converting XGen Instanced Primitives to Curves in Maya

By August 28, 2014No Comments

Maya’s Xgen offers a great solution for populating scenes with instanced primitives. This can be a great tool for creating fur, hair, a forest, grass, or anything that would require instancing. There may be an occasion when you would want to “un-instance” Xgen primitives for other tasks or to fit into your specific workflow.

Daryl Obert has a look at doing just that, showing you how you can convert XGen instanced primitives to either geometry or even curves that can be used elsewhere.
