Using Blender as a UV Tool for Maya

By September 20, 2014No Comments

FlippedNormals.com’s Morten Jæger understands that Maya’s UV tools have come a ways in the last little while, but still leaves something to be desired. There are plenty of applications that can handle UV tasks much better, such as Headus UV Layout, RoadKill, and Unwrella.

These are great as standalone solutions, but they do require some investment. Morten suggests Blender as a UV tool alternative. Blender is free, and actually contains very strong UV unwrapping tools in comparison to Autodesk Maya.
