PixelBump’s Stephen Sprinkles demonstrates how effective Xpresso can be in Cinema 4D with a look into creating a vehicle running over a complex terrain.

Stephen show how to rig a little tank with treads that will automatically react to the surface of the terrain. In fact, Stephen notes that the entire animation is done using only 2 keyframes.

Xpresso is a great way to move an object along the surface of another, and have it follow the contours without using a lot of superfluous keyframes.

Stephen shows how to handle the tank treads animation in the tutorial, as well as offering the project files for download. Check out PixelBump’s tutorial and project files for Animating on Surface With Xpresso here.
