Via Ashraf Aiad, Motion4U, or M4U is a company formed Orlando Florida after nine years of research and development into motion capture. The have developed Xaelander, which is a “mini” motion capture system that works on your desktop feeding motion data information into Maya, 3DMax, or even After Effects in real time… this just blows my mind. I remember the “Desktop Monkey” from way back – something that never really caught on as an input device but this is WAY cooler! Not really sure how useful it would be for walk cycles and such, but still very cool! Check the Motion4U website for more video examples of Xaelander. Dance monkey!
