How to Create and Animate UI Design in Cinema 4D

By February 14, 2020No Comments

Eli Prenten shows how you can use C4D to create skeuomorphic UI design elements.

Love or hate skeuomorphic UI design, there may come a time when you need to create the elements for one. Sure, you can use Photoshop or a UI design-focused app like Sketch, but you can also use Cinema 4D.

Using Cinema 4D allows you to model, texture, light, and animate everything all in one place.

Animate a File Icon in C4D

The tutorial covers creating a file icon in Cinema 4D that not only animates opening and closing but also reveals some files inside. There are lots of nice little touches in the animation, too, from the spring-loaded file folders to the button’s backlighting when it’s activated.
