Working parametrically (or procedurally) has its benefits in some instances. A new tutorial from BrightPhoton (Magnol Pierre Francois) shows how you can leverage a procedural workflow to create a rocky canyon in Cinema 4D.

The rocky canyon scene originally started as a series of tests inspired by the Antelope Canyon. Magnol focused on creating the rock walls procedurally, using Cinema 4D, Octane, and x-Particles for the final result.
