Simple Way to Position Objects Along Curve in Maya Using Position on Curve

By August 28, 2012No Comments

Arvid Schneider provides a look at how you can snap and position objects against a curve in Maya by using the often forgotten Snap Align Position On Curve command in Maya which will evenly place objects along a curve.

This Quick Tip shows you how to position objects and meshes along Curves/Splines text, or any other curvy shape in Maya. Its a great way to create quickly and easy some stylized shapes and designs for your renderers

In Maya under the Modify Menu, Snap Align, you will find Position On Curve which is very useful for placing objects along a curve, unfortunately, there is nothing left in history by this operation. What would really be valuable is to have Position On Curve as a node in history that you could tweak and animate values from.
