Free Rotation Interpolator Node for Maya Can Add Arbitrary Weighted Rotations

The ToolChef’s are certainly prolific as their name describes, in knocking out really helpful tools for a wide range of applications. New to the arsenal is a rotation interpolator node for Autodesk Maya.

a maya node that interpolates an arbitrary number of rotations.

The Rotation Interpolator Node will allow you to interpolate an arbitrary number of rotations to an object. The rotations all work off of a weighted value. This means that you can have many objects affect the rotation of a single object. The Rotation Interpolator will transpose the influence based on the settings, or the objects proximity to the other shapes.

So basically you can have a few objects share their rotational influence on one object. Translating the target object will affect how much influence is received based on proximity to the other objects that it gets it’s rotations from.

The Rotation Interpolator Node works in Quaternion space which offer much better results than standard Euler interpolations.
