C4D exports are limited to exporting everything. When you select export, that means the entire scene will be exported in the format of choice. This is not always an effective method, however. What if you have a scene, but only want to export a single object… or a few objects?

This is where the Selected Object Exporter plugin can really come in handy. Selected Object Exporter will allow you to save and export based on whatever is selected in the scene. Many other application have save or export selected, and with this free plugin, brings that similar functionality to Cinema 4D.
Selected Object Exporter can be downloaded for free (visit the downloads section) through Field Creators Studios, the creators of the plugin. In fact, it is part of a suite of tools and plugins for Cinema 4D called FCS Tools Package, which is available for both OS X And Windows.
