Have you ever tried ParticleIllusion? Well, it is quite useful and quite fun. On that subject, today Genarts, maker of the sapphire, monsters, and raptors plugins for leading editing and compositing systems (including Adobe, Apple, Avid, Autodesk, Assimilate, Eyeon, FilmLight, The Foundry, Quantel and SGO), announced a definitive agreement to acquire ParticleIllusion and all related products and technologies from wondertouch LLC. The deal will include other products and technologies such as particleIllusion SE, all Emitters and Pro Emitters, particleIllusion for After Effects, and all related intellectual property from Wondertouch. As a separate announcement, Genarts plans to release the greatly anticipated Particle Illusion for After Effects in December 2009. I think that it will be seriously fantastic to have other particle options in After Effects.
