Autodesk released hotfix 2 for Maya 2011, addressing several important fixes. For one, and a big one for me, was the Render view overrides all other windows in OSX – this has been fixed. Remember as it is a hotfix, it is recommend that you uninstall Maya 2011, before you instal Hotfix 2 (which is the entire application, not a service patch). You can get the Hotfix for Maya 2011 here.
Note: Every hotfix is cumulative; it contains the fixes from the hotfix(es) that preceded it. For example, Hotfix #2 includes the fixes released in Hotfix #1, therefore you do not need to download and install both hotfixes.
