I have seen an After Effects Dynamics engine rumors kicking around for a while now, and it looks like its getting closer to release where the Motion Boutique has posted some info on Newton, which they are calling “The First physics engine for After Effects”. Check out more info on Newton Physics Engine For After Effects here.
Newton interprets each 2D layer as a rigid object in a real environment. Once the simulation is calculated, the corresponding animation is recreated in After Effects as keyframes.
- fast solving and robust environment
- simple but intuitive interface
- OpenGL preview
- gravity, collisions, friction, etc..
- understands after effects masks
- simple management of static objects, dynamic, kinematic, etc..
