Laurence Grayson writes: With Diablo III’s release (finally!) just around the corner, I thought I’d throw together a tutorial series showing you how you can create a Diablo III-style intro logo that would be ideal if you’re creating a clan video, gameplay footage or fan film. As usual, it relies entirely on the standard toolkit in After Effects (CS3 or later), so you won’t need any expensive plug-ins. That said, it’s certainly not as sophisticated as the actual Diablo III intro, which uses some pretty heavy duty effects like realistic flames, lighting, glow and particles.
You’ll need to download the following assets before starting:
