Cloning Objects Onto Cinema 4D’s Hair System

By February 16, 2013March 31st, 2015No Comments

Digital Sandwich’s Glen Faught shows how to instance objects on the Hair System in Cinema 4D instead of using a Cloner Object in C4D. This carries the benefit of having objects behave with the same parameters that are typically reserved for the Hair System in Cinema 4D.

This technique would be very useful for any object that you want to animate the same way you would want hair to move

This includes some “free” dynamic attributes such as wind, and collisions and gravity. Glen notes that this is a simple set up, requiring an object to instance, an object to instance onto, and some hair and demonstrates this by adding a hair system to a ground plane here, and then shows how to add hair, and instance trees along the guide hairs and also provides some tips for rendering. Check out the post for Instancing Objects onto Hair in C4D here.
