Jonathan Lampel from BlenderHD demonstrates a technique for creating a realistic ocean animation in Blender using Blender’s ocean modifier, and uses Blender’s Dynamic Paint system to create the foam and Cycles phsycial rendering engine to render the animation out.
This video covers how to create an ocean with the ocean modifier, and how to use dynamic paint to float objects in the water
This was the result of an ongoing experimentation in getting a simple method for creating ocean waves and foam in Blender, and it is interesting to see the progression at the beginning of the video resulting in the final image and tutorial.
