Using Blender’s New True SubSurface Scattering in Cycles

By April 4, 2013No Comments

Charles “thespastickangaroo” with a quick demonstration of Blender’s new SubSurface Scatter Shader available in the latest development build of Blender, and shows rendering with the Cycles Rendering Engine.

Cycles has an awesome new feature: a true SSS shader

Creating a simple SSS Setup, Charles compares some attributes and differences for using the new subsurface Scattering Shader, versus the old method. Currently the Cycles SubSurface Shader is undergoing optimizations, and does not work with the GPU render, however still fun to try out.
