The Vertex Map Animator Plugin comes with two tags within Cinema 4D, the Vertex Map Animator tag can interpolate two or more vertex maps to be animated and used by the vertex map shader within the material channels.
The Vertex Map Life tag simulates the growth or death starting from the base vertex map, on a frame by frame basis.
