An interesting look at adding some animated life into a still image from Pawel Lukomski who shows how to use Cinema 4D and After Effects for animating subtly the parts of a portrait image with some wind blown hair and clothes and a move of the arm.

In this tutorial we will face a common problem when a client gives us a still source (eg.poster /logo) and vague directions

Pawel broke the image up into two sections, the background which would be developed in Cinema 4D including the wind affected hair and cloth dynamics, and the foreground stuff that would be done in After Effects and Photoshop adding motion to the hands, revealing the henna tattoos while still being faithful to the original work. Pawel even shows how to add some subtle movements in the face with a simple displace in After Effects.
