Mainframe North pushes out an update to MASH, the procedural Animation Toolkit for Maya that makes it easy to set up and create motion graphics related scenes and animation.

MASH 2.1 offers a new Flight Node, which can create simple flocking, swarming, and schooling effects largely due to some of the improvements made to MASH’s instancing.

The MASH Flight Node relies on an OpenGL display to assist with set up, and has Ramp inputs that will allow you to control all its major attributes.

Flight also harbors 12 different steering modes, including the classic Obstacles and Attractors, and Predators and Prey. As well as Inertia and Gravitation Steering, and Mesh following and avoidance.

In Addition to the new Flight Node, MASH 2.1 adds a ton of fixes and streamlined changes to MASH, for a complete list, check the MASH Features and Changes here.
