After Effects | Using Auto Lip-Sync To Create Automatic Mouth Animation

Often times animation will be set out using scratch audio, a temporary piece of audio that will stand in waiting for the final clips to be added. This can cause some degree of grief of you are not carful, you need to think about how you can still create your animation without having to go back in and change it or start all over again based on the new audio additions.

For creating Facial animations in After Effects, MamoWorld’s Auto Lip-Sync is a great tool to use in anticipation that the audio might change – automatically creating mouth movement from designated audio in After Effects.

Here, David Legion sets out in part 4 of his character animation suite of tutorials, showing how he used MamoWorld’s Auto Lip-Sync on the facial rig he created for the animation “Building Some Hope”.

The Auto Lip-Sync plugin will allow you to create a mouth that automatically animates based on your audio recording, so there is no need to paint yourself in a corner by keyframing the animation.

Auto Lip-Sync is actually fairly simple to use, providing a step by step wizard that guides you through the process, and offers solutions of animating the inside of the mouth including the teeth and tongue, with plenty of controls for fine-tuning the automatic animation along the way.
