Allegorithmic Introduces Substance Painter, Next Gen Texture Painting

allegorithmic-Substance-Painter

Allegorithmic has taken the wraps off of their vision for what next gen painting should be- Substance Painter, using real-world physics in a non-destructive pipeline that allows for both 3D and 2D painting.

Introducing Substance Painter by Allegorithmic We believe Substance 4, with the combination of Painter and Designer, can become the all-in-one tool for texture artists.

It appears that Allegorithmic have licensed the particle engine from Popcorn FX for particles for Substance Painter, and have incorporated a library of content scanned by Surface Mimic. Based on Allegorithmic’s Substance hybrid procedural technology, Substance Painter offers particle and MultiChannel Brushes, Automatic UV Re-Projecting, a Unified Material Layer Stack, and a live link with Substance Designer, allowing you to shaper asset libraries.

Substance Painter also will have Substance Designers new PBR Preview allowing you to paint directly on your shaded mesh providing realtime previews for editing and painting.

Substance Painter will be doing a beta cycle starting the first quarter of 2014 – Subscribe to Allegorithmic’s newsletter to apply.
