Camera Instancer Fixes Camera-Dependent Effect PreComp Woes

How many times have you tried to use an effect in After Effects that uses or is aware of the AE Camera, in a PreComp only to find that it no longer respects the precomposed camera. I think we have all been there, am I right?

Feast your eyes on Blurry Pixel’s Camera Instancer Script. Camera Instancer will create a camera that actually instances the active camera from another After Effects composition. Any changes you make to the active camera, will follow through and be seen in the second composition, even if you change the active camera.

Camera Instancer will create a camera that instances the active camera from another composition. It does so by assigning expressions that duplicate the parameters of the composition specifiedBlurry Pixel

This means that the Camera Instancer Script is a viable workaround for preComposing camera-dependant effects, while still keeping the flexibility of making changes to just one camera. Simply run the script in the first composition and a new camera will be created. Then copy and paste that camera into a second composition. Any changes that are made to the first composition will reflect in the second composition.
