V-Ray 3 for Maya Hits Beta

The Chaos Group launched the V-Ray 3 open beta program for Autodesk Maya, just as they did for the 3ds Max version of V-Ray – asking for user input and feedback.

If you are a registered user of V-Ray, by applying to the beta program will provide access to the V-Ray 3 beta software builds, and interact directly with the developers in the beta forum.

V-Ray 3 features are in parody with the 3ds Max version, although there are some Maya specific features. The Maya version of V-Ray 3 includes some volumetric shaders for the Chaos Group’s Phoenix FD fluid simulator. V-Ray 3.0 for Maya supports OpenSubdiv, Alembic 1.5, OpenEXR 2.0, OpenColorIO, OpenVDB, and Field3D.

You can sign up for the V-Ray 3 beta program here.
