Modeling Workflows in Maya 2015 With the Modeling Toolkit

Craig Barr offers a look at modeling workflows in Maya 2015 extension release 1, covering some polygon modeling techniques that are possible with the Modeling Toolkit in Maya. Craig shows off how the modeling toolkit has seen better Maya integration over the last few releases, and has a look at some of the improvements that have been made to Maya’s Boolean Operations.

Craig runs trough quite a bit of stuff in this Webinar replay, topics covered include the Multi-Cut Tool, Bevels, Booleans, Quad Draw, Target Weld, Connect, Wedge, among others. Craig also does a detailed look at using the Quad Draw tool in the Maya Modeling Toolkit, offering two different techniques for using the tool. These include the “dot drawing” method, and the poly strips drawing mode, both of which will allow you to draw really quick polygon topology in the viewport.

One last thing, Craig looks at the new color managed workflow in Maya 2015 having a look at the basics and integration of color workflow.
