Ian Waters walks us through another tutorial that deals with MASH’s distribution node, using it to create a low poly planet in Autodesk Maya. MASH is Maya 2016 extension 2’s latest addition, adding a procedural motion graphics workflow to Maya’s toolset.
A quick run through setting up a simple MASH network.
Ian walks through the process of creating a low poly planet which will use MASH’s Distribute node to place trees along a mesh. Ian also touches on how to use Maya’s painting tools to designate where you want the trees to show up, and how to use MASH IDs to control which trees to replicate.
MASH is now an Autodesk product and shipping with Maya 2016 Extension 2.
