Use Maya’s VP2 to Generate Fast Wireframe Renders

Creating was always a hassle. Especially when all you had at your disposal were the standard software render and Mental Ray. Things have changed quite a bit in that area, with many 3rd party renderers that are now available for Maya. Even still, it is the advancement of Maya’s Viewport 2 that can make creating wireframe renders a super-fast affair.

A fast way to generate wire-frames for your renders

Viewport 2 is great for visualizing your scene in-camera, adding nice reflections, shadows and other effects in real time. It can also be used as a “hardware” renderer to easily create wireframes. SimplyMaya covers the process and settings showing how you can create wires for overlays that will work with both still images and animations too. Best part is that it doesn’t add too much more to your render times.
