Shawn Astrom Shows How to Simulate a Chromatic Aberration Effect by Placing a Lens in Front of the Camera

Does the current renderer that you use not have the capacity for real-world lens effects like a chromatic aberration effect? Typically, you can just build a lot of effects such as light aberration inside of your favorite compositor. If you are a fan of getting everything in-camera, you can create your chromatic aberration with any renderer.

3D Artist Shawn Astrom shows how you can just create lens effects using Corona Render, by, well utilizing a lens! If you place a physical lens object in front of your camera, with the corresponding refractive material, you can quickly achieve the effect.

Of course, your render times will take a hit, but this technique could be a great way to experiment with creating aberration as a guide for more realistic attempts in the composite.
