Dimitris Katsafouros Waxes on The Lost Art of Color Cycling

When Resources Were Slim, Color Cycling Made for Some Clever Solutions in Animation.

More than an animation trick of the 80’s and 90’s Color Cycling gave some of the most iconic images come alive. If you’ve ever played Monkey Island or other games of that era, you’ve likely seen the Color Cycling Trick. It was an easy way to get animation going when resources were insufficient, just by cycling through a range of colors.
