Make Properties Oscillate in Ae With a Sin Expression

Evan Abrams Looks at Working With the Sin Expression in After Effects.

Picking up new After Effects Expressions here and there is always a good thing. One particular expression that gets used a lot is the Sine Wave. In After Effects, as it is in JavaScript is Math.sin(). It can be a great way to create periodic oscillations that you can use in a variety of ways.

Tutorial Author Evan Abrams has a look at what the Sin Expression does and how you can use it in Ae to control properties. The tutorial shows how easy it is to make things oscillate in a regular wave. “You may learn some math. You will make some waves.” Evan says about it. Dan Ebberts has a pretty thorough article that covers the basics of physical simulations, and mainly the Sine Math Function.
