You would think that mirroring is an essential part of texture painting, and you would be right. Working with Mari, mirrored paint is only available through the buffer. Working this way can lead to some inflexible workflows. Using Mari Extention Pack 4 R1 Update 11, there is a better way with its Symmetry Bake XYZ tools.

Based on David Eschrich’s script for world-space symmetrical painting, the paint tool for Mari lets you work similarly to Substance Painter or ZBrush. There are some modifications made to the Symmetry Bake in the Mari Extension Pack, which Jens Kafitz covers in his latest tutorial.
