How to Create Animated Cloth in Cinema 4D

By August 11, 2018No Comments

CG Shortcuts Has a Look at Creating Animated Cloth Using C4D’s Cloth Tag and Jiggle.

Watching cloth animate is always visually interesting. With Cinema 4D cloth effects can be fairly straightforward. Some dynamics systems can get pretty technical, but C4D’s dynamics take most the guesswork out of creating simulations. Watch a new CG Shortcuts tutorial by Dave Bergin, as he shows how to create an abstract animated cloth loop in C4D.

The tutorial covers using the cloth tag, and points out tips for working with cloth in C4D – so if you are new, this is a great place to start. Most of the motion in the tutorial comes from using the jiggle deformer. The last CG Shortcuts tutorial also dove into soft body dynamics, showing how to animate a falling burger stack.

As with all CG Shortcuts, you can download the free project file too and use it in your own motion graphics work.
