Working With Dynamic Constraints in Maya

Maximilian Schönherr Covers Working With nCloth and Dynamic Constraints in Maya.

Maya has both animation constraints and dynamic ones. Although the premise for each is similar, they are for different purposes. Watch this short tutorial from Maximilian Schönherr where he covers a basic introduction to dynamic constraints, working with Maya’s nCloth soft-body dynamics system.

Schönherr uses constraints on a section of nCloth that will hold the cloth shape. The video goes on to introduce cracks and tears into the fabric by utilizing another constraint system on the cloth. If you are new to working with dynamics in Maya, this is an excellent introduction to how cloth constraints work and exemplifies their capabilities in a general workflow.
