The Flipped Normals team checks out the new denoiser in Blender 2.81.
Previously you had to tweak samples and other things to get beautiful clean renders that were still fast to produce. These days there is another alternative thanks to advances in AI and neural networks. The recent point update to Blender 2.8 sees the addition of Intel’s open image Denoiser technology. The denoiser lets you quickly take the noise out of renders without the long render times.
The Flipped Normals team of Henning Sanden and Morten Jaeger has a look into working with the new denoiser in Blender and shares some tips for best results. Taking the noise out of the image is a great way to get renders faster.
