How to Age Your Face With Mocha Pro and After Effects

FloMotion shows how you can use PowerMesh in Mocha Pro to age footage of your face.

There are a couple of new things at play in this latest tutorial by FloMotion’s Florian Fueger. First, Photoshop’s latest release uses some AI-powered filters; one of them will age any face. The next is Mocha’s new PowerMesh feature that allows you to track warping surfaces. Bring those two new pieces together, and you can age footage of any face in After Effects.

Mocha PowerMesh.

Fueger shows how you can use Mocha Pro’s PowerMesh to track a moving face’s warping surfaces. That will allow you to place the aged version on the face, even while talking.

We’ve seen mesh-based tracking before – I’m sure we can all remember where we were when we first saw  Chris Vranos‘ Lockdown for After Effects, the revolutionary plugin that allows you to track warping surfaces.
