How to Layer Ocean Bakes for Large-Scale Water in Blender

Dylan Neill shows how you can use some new features in Blender to create large-scale water, like oceans.

Software changes all the time and so should include workflows when it’s suitable. In this case, if you create large-scale water, like oceans with foam and other details, look at how Blender 2.93 can change that process. Check out this new tutorial from Dylan Neill that revisits one of his earlier tutorials for creating oceans with foam in Blender, with a new workflow thanks to some new tools in the popular open-source 3D DCC.

Dylan’s tutorial covers the initial setup for creating oceans, creating the swells you will need, and baking using the ocean modifier. You will also see how to make the shaders and render and build a foam shader.
