Stormz shows how to make a motion graphics-style helix animation with Houdini.

Houdini is a super-open platform for motion graphics tasks. You can get MOPs, or “Motion Operators,” a free and open-source suite of HDAs that can help motion designers animate, but ideally, Houdini can create motion graphics style animation without any special tools.

This new tutorial from Stormz shows how to make an animation of a helix draw progressively on the screen using Houdini nodes and some Houdini Lab tools to help.
