Nick Medukha shows how to grow flowers using a vellum cloth simulation in Houdini.
This new beginner’s style tutorial by Nick Medukha again works with Houdini’s Vellum solver to create a grow-animation. The tutorial shows an easy and fast way to create an abstract flower animation that adds another to his growing list of “satisfying animations” created with Houdini.
Previously, Medukha used a glue constraint with the Vellum Solver to make two cloth pieces pull apart. That one covered how vellum glue constraints work and SOPs, Vellum, Dopnet, and Rendering. Sidefx Houdini allows a procedural approach that makes creating abstract and satisfying animations easy.
