Igor Riđanović shows how Davinci Resolve’s Surface Tracker can make short work of face VFX.
Davinci Resolve 18 has some new surface tracking tools that are perfect for things that stretch and distort, like clothes, faces, and more. This new tutorial from Igor Riđanović shows how to use Resolve’s surface tracker to add some VFX elements to a face as it moves.
The surface tracker tracks a high-density mesh, which acts as a grid warp, ensuring that the element you are tracking also warps with the surface folds.
Considering that this tutorial covers V18 beta 1, there will likely be many changes to the Surface Tracker before the official release.
