Voxyde shows how helpful the Rot Attribute in Houdini is for rotating particles post-simulation.
This new tutorial from Voxyde covers what he calls an “extremely underrated and often overlooked” feature, and that’s the Rot Attribute in Houdini.
The tutorial shows how the Rot attribute is beneficial when orienting copies and adjusting rotation for RBDS. You can also use this attribute to add spin or rotation post-simulation to particles.
A considerable advantage of using this rot attribute is that it adds the rotation operations to the existing orientation; This means you don’t have to override the direction of the particles or rigid systems but rather add to it.
