The CandyFloss Kid shows how useful it is to use the 3D-Coat Materials Window to provide quick reference when sculpting in 3D-Coat. You are able to reference imported images to the 3D-Coat Materials Window from any folder on your hard disk.
As well as being useful for an image texturing resources the materials panel is also a fine and handy place to store photo reference as an aide-memoir when sculpting. Here I use it by demonstration to lay in the shape of the frontal eminence of the human head as well as the set up the rough proportions for the overall head. Of course it’s just as easy to remember the defining shapes of the frontal eminence as the sweep down to a woman hips with the eye sockets becoming her buttocks as it were. The size of eyes being thus to your own tastes. I digress. You can reference imported images to the materials window from any chosen folder on your hard drive or if you prefer >The 3DCoat Application>textures (folder)>photos(folder)> and place your jpegs here to import from this default master to keep things neat. Please Note that symmetry across the x axis was used in this video i.e I forgot to mention that in the video itself 🙂
