Stephen Blair shares the process for creating custom color masks in Maya when rendering with the Arnold Renderer, showing how to create Arnold’s custom AOV’s (Arbitrary Output Variables).

In this video, I show how to a color mask AOV using a custom AOV and the Utility shader

Stephen shows how to create an AOV in Maya using Arnold, ad then shows how to set the default shader for the newly created AOV, setting the Arnold Utility Shader to output various colors for each object or shape in the scene.
