MELProtector, a plugin which provides a level of protection to Maya developers, offering the ability to hide code and protect intellectual property, has recently updated to include the same level of control for Python protection as well.
It can be useful for protecting proprietary scripts which need to be distributed or for selling scripts without requiring the development of a plug-in
MELProtector actually incorporates a special compilation process which will prevent the code from bing visible, and now includes support for Maya 2013 32 and 64 bit windows and Mac systems.
