Technical Artist José María Tejeda posts his Animation Manager for Maya, a tool which is meant to take control of poses, animation and selections, and organize directories and subgroups.

The Animation Manager for Maya will allow you to essentially build a library of poses, animations and assets which you can then orginaize and browse through, right from the Animation Manager for Maya’s interface.

The plugin has three transfer methods that it uses which include NameSpace, Short Name / Long Name, and a Mapping Manager. Animation Manager also includes the Blend Poser, an utility to interpolate between the current position and a saved pose.

Animation Manager for Maya will let you export selected objects, animations, selection groups and let you set a capture view for easy browsing when you are importing. The other side to the Animation Manager for Maya is that it will allow you to import items from your library, importing poses, animations and even transfer them from one character to the next.

José María Tejeda has extensive resources on the scripts usage in Maya, so be sure to check out the Animation Manager for Maya page here.
