Practical Instancing with Maya’s Xgen

Autodesk’s Steven Roselle offers a practical look at instancing with Maya’s Xgen tools, showing some examples of how you can using instancing with Maya to create more than film projects. Xgen can be used to populate terrains for game engines and much more.

With this example, Steven shows how to populate an environment with thousands of trees using both Xgen’s procedural and artistic controls in Maya 2015. There have been plenty of great examples of working with instancing in Maya’s Xgen – check out a few more here.
